Multiple Bladen Legacy project members, led by Keith Prufer, co-authored a recent article in Communications Earth & Environment, titled “An early shift from wetland-adjacent to upland farming in the Maya lowlands.” They used soil excavations and sediment cores towards examining where people cultivated maize at different timepoints in southern Belize.
